REGGAE MUSICIAN: TAXX

Meet Taxx
I visited Jamaica for several photo shoots, staying at a stunning new luxury boutique resort. While staying there, I met many beautiful people and learned about their culture and their dreams. I was assigned a resort maintenance worker to serve as my photo assistant on a shoot, and was fortunate to have worked with a very hard worker. My assistant was 20 years old and goes by the nickname Taxx rather than Godel, his given name. While waiting for the sun to appear between the clouds for optimal photographs, I asked Taxx about his town, his family, and his dreams. Taxx dreams of getting a certificate to become a proper electrician, and to become a musician. The currency and culture is different than that in the United States, so dreams are a bit harder to achieve than what we are used to.

My Goal
My goal is to help a few people on an individual level, and to do some research on how small local programs can be created to assist a wider range of people achieve goals through providing them with access to education and resources towards a better life. For Taxx, the goal is to provide access to quality education so that he may advance his career and become an electrician. Though many people in small villages of Jamaica have mobile phones, gas lines and phone lines are less common. Few of the small homes have internet access so without this baisc resource, it makes it more difficult for them to sell goods and music. I told Taxx I would do what I could to help.
